If you’ve ever been estranged from a family member (I was from my mom & sister for SEVEN years) then the following may mean something to you.

The time we’ve traveled
Is time we’ve lost.
We sit here now
Counting the cost.
We cannot go back
And undo what’s been done.
Only take a day at a time
With the steps we’ve begun.
Each moment gained
Is a moment to treasure.
And how I feel now
Is way beyond measure.
I know there’ll be times
When things might get rough
But together we’ll find
That nothing is too tough.
We will have to learn
To love and to trust.
And know that forgiveness
Is always a must.

That will make you see
How much I needed you
To come back to me.
